Advancing business together
Cobh & Harbour Chamber, was founded in 1958 and is the prime business representative organisation in the town of Cobh, the Great Island and the Cork Harbour Area.
The Chamber has a clear vision of the future economic development of its region. It acts as a catalyst for the promotion of plans to ensure the long-term success for the business life and community. It articulates the views of its members both individually and collectively to the local authorities, those at government level such as politicians, various European institutions, and to all relevant bodies whether public or private. It provides opportunities for members to meet and network, creating greater awareness of business opportunities. The Chamber also provides an information service to its members on a very wide range of business issues and promotes education and training. Cobh & Harbour Chamber facilitates the operation of Cobh Tourist office. Cobh & Harbour Chamber is also part of Chambers Ireland.
Chambers Ireland actively engages in research and lobbying activities on a range of public policy issues of interest to our members. By drawing upon the expertise of our member chambers and the businesses they represent, we are in a unique position to understand the concerns of all sectors of business from all regions of Ireland. In 2019 Chambers Ireland will focus on certain key areas for in-depth research, promote the importance of these policy areas for the business community and engage on such issues with government and national bodies through our lobbying activities.
Corporate Social Responsibility is a core policy area for Chambers Ireland and for the Chamber Network. Our CSR policy section provides information on CSR for SMEs, CSR Case Studies, useful CSR Resources and details of the Chambers Ireland annual CSR Awards. Chambers Ireland works with our colleagues in Eurochambres on EU policy matters. Read our EU policy priorities
As Chambers Ireland engages in lobbying activities we are registered under the Regulation of Lobbying Act 2015 and file three reports annually detailing any meeting or communications between Chambers and a Designated Public Official (DPO).
