Aim:

To provide a residential setting where residents are cared for, supported and valued in a person-centred environment that promotes the individual health and well being of residents.

Objective:

Cobh Community Hospital provides a high standard of care based on established best practice. A comfortable, homely, clean and safe environment replicates, as far as possible, the previous lifestyle of the residents.

Ethos:

To involve family and friends in the care and activities of the residents.

Mission Statement:

Cobh Community Hospital, through the dedication and commitment of our Board of Management and Staff will provide you with the care you need to ensure your quality of life is optimal.

Philosophy of Care:

Cobh Community Hospital is rooted in a deep heritage of high standards of care for the older person.

We aim to act as an advocate to the older person. We will work in partnership with the resident, to meet their physical, psychological, social, emotional and spiritual needs. We respect and promote the independence and dignity of all residents. Each persons’ individual beliefs and values are acknowledged and valued.

We will endeavour to adopt a facilitative approach to care, which will empower the residents and their families to become involved in decisions about care with privacy and dignity. In situations where recovery is not an option, we will adopt a caring focus. We will strive to relieve pain and give comfort to ensure that the final chapter of life is a peaceful and intimate experience for the resident and their families.

Garden:

A central garden area is accessible at all times. It is a peaceful and secure garden with space to walk around, sit and relax in or take part in some gardening.
